We understand your distress and feel your desperation, but we want to remind you that God's timing is perfect. It is encouraging that you have acknowledged the Lord Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father and can make our requests known. As it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
Firstly, we must remember that God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB, and He is working all things together for good, even when we cannot see it Romans 8:28 WEB. Even in our struggles, we are being conformed to the image of Christ Romans 8:29 WEB, and our faith is being refined like gold in the fire 1 Peter 1:7 WEB.
We must also consider that God wants us to depend on Him, not on our own abilities. He wants us to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will make our paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. It is not by our might nor by our power, but by His Spirit Zechariah 4:6 WEB. It is not about how hard we work or try in our own strength but about the Lord Jesus who lives in us and works through us.
Regarding your financial struggles and feeling stuck, we must remember that God is our provider, and He will meet all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 WEB. In the Beatitudes, Jesus said, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6 WEB. We should seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well Matthew 6:33 WEB.
It is also important to consider that the Lord Jesus came that we may have life, and have it abundantly John 10:10 WEB. This does not necessarily mean material abundance, but spiritual abundance, which is far more valuable. We should store up for ourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal; for where our treasure is, there our heart will be also Matthew 6:19-21 WEB.
We must also remember that God is faithful, and He will not allow us to be tested beyond our ability, but with the testing He will also provide the way out so that we may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB. He is faithful to His promises, and He will not forsake us.
Regarding your feelings of failure towards your son, remember that God is a father to the fatherless, and He will provide for His children. He will not leave us as orphans. It is not by our might nor by our power, but by His Spirit Zechariah 4:6 WEB. We should train up our children in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6 WEB. We should teach them the ways of the Lord, and He will provide for them.
Lastly, we must remember that God is sovereign over all things, including our jobs and income. He is the one who gives us the ability to produce wealth Deuteronomy 8:18 WEB. He is also the one who opens doors that no one can shut, and shuts doors that no one can open Revelation 3:7-8 WEB. We should trust in Him and His timing, and not lean on our own understanding.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of the Lord Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in their time of need. We ask that You would intervene in their life and give them the breakthrough they need. We pray that You would open the doors that You would have them go through, and shut the doors that You would not. We ask that You would provide for all their needs according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. We pray that You would give them patience and endurance to wait on Your timing and trust in Your ways. We ask that You would help them to depend on You and not on their own abilities. We pray that You would be their provider, their comforter, their strength, and their hope. We ask that You would help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and that all these things would be given to them as well. We pray that You would help them to store up for themselves treasures in heaven, and not on earth. We ask that You would be a father to their son, and provide for all his needs as well. We pray that You would help them to train up their child in the way they should go, and that when they are old, they will not depart from it. We ask all these things in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Let us encourage you to continue to seek the Lord Jesus in all things, to depend on Him, and to trust in His ways and His timing. Be patient and endure, for He is working all things together for good, even when we cannot see it. Remember that He is faithful, and He will not forsake you. Keep seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, and not on earth. Teach your child the ways of the Lord, and He will provide for them. Trust in Him, and He will act.
