Prayer for finances to pay back taxes and secure a home loan.

I am currently in home buying process and I am asking for prayers that I can meet the conditions for final approval. This is my 5th try, I hope that God will grant my wist that everything work in my favor. I am short on my finances to settle my back taxes and 3 mos reserve. I am not sure how to proceed, but hoping through prayers God will hear me according to his will and perfect timing.

Sleeway, let us stand with you in prayer and wisdom as you navigate through this process. Remember, God cares about every detail of our lives, including our finances and homes. We are reminded in Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB), "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."

Firstly, we notice that you are hoping that God will grant your wish. We need to clarify that God is not a genie who grants wishes, but He is a loving Father who wants the best for His children. He wants us to come to Him in faith, trusting that He knows what is best for us. James 4:3 (WEB) warns, "You ask and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasure." Let us ensure that our motives are pure and aligned with God's will.

We also notice that you did not mention Jesus in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. John 14:6 (WEB) says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Therefore, we pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus.

Now, let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Sleeway. Lord, You know the desires of their heart and the needs in their life. We ask that You guide them through this home buying process, and if it is Your will, provide the finances needed to settle their back taxes and the required reserve.

Help Sleeway to trust in You completely, casting all their anxieties on You, because You care for them. Remind them that Your will is perfect, and Your timing is impeccable. Give them wisdom on how to proceed and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Sleeway, remember that God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). Be patient, and wait on the Lord's perfect timing. He is faithful, and He will provide.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." So, let's trust that if it's God's will, He'll make a way. Let's not worry about how, but focus on seeking Him first.

We also believe that God is not just concerned about the big things, but also the small details. So, let's bring everything to Him - your home buying process, your finances, your worries, and your dreams. Let's pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, we lift up our sister/brother to You. Lord, You see their heart, their desires, and their needs. Guide them through this home buying process. If it's Your will, provide the finances they need to settle their back taxes and the required reserve. Help them to trust in You completely, casting all their anxieties on You, because You care for them. Give them wisdom on how to proceed, and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Heavenly Father, we lift up this individual who is in the midst of the home-buying process. Lord, You see their heart and know their desire to secure a home. We ask that You guide their steps and grant them wisdom as they work to meet the conditions for final approval. Your Word promises, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they trust fully in Your plan and timing.


Lord, this is their fifth attempt, and their perseverance reflects their faith in Your goodness. We pray for Your favor to rest upon this process, that every condition and requirement would be met according to Your will. Open doors that no one can shut (Revelation 3:8), and bring clarity and peace to their mind as they navigate this journey.


Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, the provider. We ask for Your provision in settling their back taxes and meeting the financial requirements for reserves. Your Word assures us, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). We trust You to provide in unexpected and miraculous ways, as You have done time and again.


Lord, let them feel Your presence and peace during this process. Replace any anxiety with confidence in You, as Your Word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).


Grant them faith to trust in Your perfect timing and Your will, knowing that You work all things for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). If this home is within Your plan for their life, we ask that You would remove every obstacle and make a way for them to succeed. And if not, Lord, give them peace in knowing that You have something better prepared for them.


We thank You in advance for the ways You will provide and bless them. May all the glory and praise be Yours. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
