We are grateful to lift up Fili in prayer, asking that the Lord will work in his heart to hate violence and fighting. It is encouraging to see that this request is made in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Fili in prayer. We ask, Lord, that You will work in his heart, changing his desires and attitudes towards violence and fighting. Help him to see the value of peace and gentleness, as You teach us in 1 Peter 3:11 WEB, "Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it."
We pray that Fili will be transformed by the renewing of his mind, as stated in Romans 12:2 WEB, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Help him to see the world through Your eyes, full of love, compassion, and forgiveness.
Help Fili to understand and live by the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:9 WEB, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." Give him the strength and courage to be a peacemaker in his daily life, turning away from violence and fighting.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage Fili to spend time in God's Word, seeking His will for his life. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can overcome our natural tendencies and live lives that honor and glorify God. As Fili draws near to God, we trust that He will draw near to Fili, helping him to hate violence and fighting. If this is a struggle for Fili, he would especially benefit from memorizing and repeating the scriptures to himself. This is a promise from God's word in James 4:8 WEB, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."
