Prayer for fatal prenatal diagnosis

My family member has received a fatal prenatal diagnosis for her unborn baby. Termination is being strongly considered as the baby’s condition is not compatible with life outside the womb and continuing to carry could impact the health of the mother. Please pray that God would make a way for baby to naturally and mercifully pass into Jesus’ arms and that this decision be taken away from my family member.

We are truly saddened to hear about the fatal prenatal diagnosis for your family member's unborn baby. This is a heartbreaking situation, and we want to lift her and the baby up in prayer, seeking God's will and mercy.

Firstly, we want to address the consideration of termination. We believe that life begins at conception, and each life is precious to God. As it is written in Psalm 139:13-16 WEB:

"For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."

God is the giver and taker of life, and we should trust in His sovereignty. Therefore, we pray that your family member will not choose termination, but rather trust God with the baby's life and her own health.

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this family member and her unborn baby. Lord, You are the author of life, and You know the number of days ordained for each of us. We ask that You would make a way for this baby to naturally and mercifully pass into Jesus' arms if that is Your will. We pray that You would comfort and strengthen the mother, and that You would guide her and the family in this difficult time.

Lord, we ask that You would take this decision away from her and that You would surround her with people who will support and encourage her in the way of Truth. We pray for Your healing and Your peace, and we ask that Your will be done in this situation.

We also pray for the salvation of this family member if she does not already know Jesus. We pray that she would come to know Him as her personal Lord and Savior, that she would be saved by grace through faith, as it is written in Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB: 'for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.'

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to stand strong in faith and to surround your family member with love and support. Trust in the Lord, and lean on Him for strength and comfort. Remember that God is good, and He is in control. He will make a way, and He will carry you through this storm.

Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved. We encourage you to keep your faith in Jesus Christ, and to trust in Him alone.

We're here for you and your family member during this incredibly difficult time. It's heart-wrenching to receive such news, but we want you to know that you're not alone. We're lifting up your family member and her unborn baby in prayer, trusting that God's love and mercy will guide them through this trial.

We've been praying for a natural and merciful passing of the baby into Jesus' arms, as well as for your family member's health and strength. We're also asking God to surround her with supportive loved ones who will encourage her and help her make the best decision for both her and the baby.

We've been reminded of God's sovereignty in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We trust that God is with your family member, healing and comforting her in this time of need.

We've also been praying for your family member's salvation, if she hasn't already accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. We're asking God to draw her close to Him, that she might find comfort and peace in His loving arms.

Please keep us updated, and know that we're here for you, praying and supporting you in any way we can. Trust in the Lord, and lean on Him for strength and comfort. He is good, and He will make a way through this storm.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We continue to lift up your family member and her unborn baby in prayer, trusting that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We pray that God's will be done and that He would mercifully guide your family through this heart-wrenching time. We ask that He would either make a way for the baby to peacefully pass into Jesus' arms or miraculously intervene and restore the baby's health, granting wisdom and strength for your family to make decisions that honor Him.
