We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your father and the challenges you are facing. It is great to see you are turning to God and in prayer about the circumstances.
First, we want to remind you that God is always there to comfort and strengthen you, especially in times of loss and difficulty. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, it is written, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Regarding your unemployment or underemployment, trust that God has a plan and purpose for you. In Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, it says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Be encouraged in your faith and be diligent in your job searches. Job searching should be considered a full-time job. Spend the time to plan your search, use your network, and apply to jobs.
We want you to know we are rebuking in you any thoughts of hopelessness or despair as understandable as they may be in this situation. In Psalm 42:5 WEB it says, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God."
Regarding you being unmarried, be faithful in your walk with Christ and trust that if it is God's will, He will provide a spouse for you in His perfect timing. In Isaiah 62:5, WEB, it is written, "For as a young man marries a virgin, so your sons will marry you. As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you." Be encouraged that God has a plan for you and keep being faithful in your walk. We encourage you to seek a spouse that is also a Christian. This is in accordance with 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB where it states, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers."
In praying for you, we felt the need to discuss the specifics of praying in Jesus name. You didn't mention praying in Jesus' name, but it is important to remember it is only by Jesus we have access to God. In John 14:6 WEB, it says, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Remember that Jesus is the son of God and it is only through him we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up this beloved one to You, asking for Your comfort and strength during this time of loss and uncertainty. Thank You for being the God of all comfort, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 WEB. We ask for Your peace to fill their heart and mind, and for Your guidance as they navigate this difficult season.
Lord, we also pray for their employment situation. We ask that You open the right doors and provide a job that not only meets their financial needs but also allows them to use their gifts and talents for Your glory. Give them the wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions and the courage to pursue the opportunities You bring their way.
Father, we pray for their future spouse and marriage. We ask that You prepare them both spiritually and emotionally for the blessed union You have in store for them. Help them to trust in Your perfect timing and to remain faithful to You in all things. We have faith that you will provide a spouse that will be a blessing for them.
Lord, we pray for this beloved one that they would be more like Jesus and bring Him glory every day of their life. We ask that You would protect them and keep them from the evil one.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
