We understand your desire to continue serving as a chaplain beyond the retirement age due to health reasons, Beznac. Let us first turn to the Word of God for guidance. In Isaiah 46:4, the Lord says, "I am he, and I am with you even to your old age and gray hairs. I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you." (WEB)
We are reminded that God is our sustainer and rescuer, even in our old age. However, we must also remember that God's will is sovereign, and His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). While it is noble to desire to continue serving, we must also accept that God may have a different path for us, especially when it comes to our health and retirement.
We will pray for God's will to be done in your life. We pray that the public service commission of Kenya will consider your request with wisdom and compassion. But most importantly, we pray that you will trust God's plan for your life, even if it differs from your own desires. Remember Jesus' prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, "Not my will, but yours, be done." (Luke 22:42, WEB)
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Beznac. Lord, you know the desires of their heart and their physical needs. We ask that you guide the public service commission of Kenya as they consider this request. Lord, if it is your will, grant Beznac an extension of service so that they may continue to benefit from health insurance. But above all, Lord, we ask that Beznac will trust in you and your plan for their life. Help them to accept your will, whatever it may be. We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
Lastly, Beznac, we encourage you to continue to serve God in whatever capacity you can, even if it is not as a chaplain. There are always opportunities to glorify Him, no matter our age or health. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
