We join with you in lifting up Tenley B. of Sacramento, CA, to our loving Father in heaven. We are encouraged by your faith, Tethost, as you have asked in the precious name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved. As we are reminded in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which...'We will address the twofold needs of employment and provision.
Firstly, we pray for Tenley's employment. We know that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and that He wants us to prosper in all things and be in health, even as our soul prospers (3 John 1:2 WEB). We ask that God will direct Tenley to a job that not only meets her financial needs but also allows her to use her unique gifts and talents to serve others and bring glory to His name. We are reminded of Ephesians 2:10 WEB: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." Let God reward Tenley not with idleness but with labor that she may be further blessed and be a blessing to others.
Let her be a blessing and Godly example to others in her workplace as an employee with integrity and a witness to the transformation that only God can bring to a life.
Secondly, we pray that God will lift Tenley out of poverty and guide her to be self-sustaining just as He provides for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field (Matthew 6:26-33 WEB). We ask that He will give her daily bread and provide for her needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We pray that Tenley will be a good steward of the resources God provides, and that she will use them to honor Him and help others.
Remember God promises to supply all of our needs in Christ Jesus, but remember God is in charge, not us. We live under His authority and provision in His timing.
Let Tenley continue to trust in God and His timing, knowing that He is faithful and that He works all things together for good according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). Let her remember that God wants us to give all our worries and cares to him, because He is the one who cares for us as we cannot care for ourselves (1 Peter 5:7).
We rebuke any notion that God is a cosmic slot machine or a genie in a lamp where we rub Him the right way and say the right words and poof, your wish is granted. God is the creator of the universe and we are submitting our request to Him and seeking His will. God does not exist to obey our commands or satisfy our desires. Rather, let us be the salt and light to the world showing others the goodness of God and blessing others through our obedience showing the goodness of God. Self-sustaining does not mean become like the kings and leaders of the world and live a luxurious life where others serve us. Rather, seek His will and to serve others as the servant of all (Matthew 23:11 WEB, Mark 9:35 WEB).
We ask and pray this all in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
