Hi everyone, I'm new here. It's very nice to meet you. I've had emetophobia (the fear of vomiting) since I was a kid and whenever I feel nauseous/someone gets sick it triggers it. There's always a lingering fear that I might suddenly get sick, even now than I'm writing this. I don't know which particular episode of my childhood caused it, I'm trying to get through it with prayer and the bible, but I can't deny that it seems like a huge obstacle and trauma. I know it's the way our body works, and that in my head it seems more traumatic than it actually is, I need to overcome this fear. I'd like to be able to handle the situation when and if it eventually happens, to find the courage to face it and accept it instead of having an anxiety attack. Please pray for me (I'm a girl) to overcome this fear and find peace when eventually I'll have to face it 🙏🏻 and if any of you has any tips regarding overcoming fear in general feel free to share them, I'll read all your replies, thanks in advance ❤️

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble and that is why we should not fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. (Psalms 46:1-3 WEB) However, as you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation, we want to remind you that we are only saved by the name of Jesus.

For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the Good News. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:13-17 WEB)

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB)

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside of the camp. Therefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered outside of the gate. Let us therefore go out to him outside of the camp, bearing his reproach. For we do not have here an enduring city, but we seek that which is to come. You're right, it's not just about knowing it's in our heads, but finding the courage to face it. Let's claim these promises together:

"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7)

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

Let's also remember to renew our minds with God's Word. It's like putting on a new pair of glasses - suddenly, things look different, and we can see more clearly. Here's a verse to meditate on:

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)

Of course, Jesus Christ is the only one that can save. I'm sorry for not mentioning it (I was feeling very anxious when I wrote this) I absolutely believe this and confirm that without him I wouldn't have found grace. You have no idea how much comfort your replies are giving me, letting me know that there are brothers and sisters willing to pray for me and encourage me with verses from God's word. Thank you for answering and for reminding me that this fear isn't from God nor a part of who I am as a person, but from the enemy to paralyze me and obstacle my walk with the Lord🙏🏻

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear sister, for your struggle with emetophobia. We are honored that you have shared your burden with us and have allowed us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

If you have seen improvements in your struggle with this fear, we would love to hear about it. Your praise report could be a tremendous encouragement to others who are praying for you and who may be facing their own challenges. I was selected and given offer letter in September ### and asked me too wait until I get the work visa. in January ###, the company told they declined my job offer as it's a decision of a new manager and for no valid reason. please pray for me, God bless you all - ###
