Prayer for ### and non-DUI

I was arrested in August of last year. I forgot my lights on coming home and they stopped me and charged me with a DUI and a refusal to blow. I was working late as I was a waitress at the time and after work my colleagues and I had a few drinks. I did drink but I wasn’t drunk and erratic on or did I cause any harm. I just forgot my lights. I am congenitally blind in my left eye and can’t balance well at all. I tried doing the road test but I can’t walk in a straight line for no way on earth. They did the same thing to me years ago. I came close to a curb. I never hit it or hit anything. It was COVID and they tried to charge me with a DUI. Now they are trying to charge me again with a DUI and a refusal to blow even though I said I would and tried several times to but I can’t due to my asthma in addition I couldn’t do it 3 years ago either. I have 3 doctor letters I supplied but they still want to charge me. I can’t get work because the case is pending the prosecutor doesn’t want to auto-budge. My lawyer says time is my friend. It’s been 8 months. They tried to suspend my license but the DMV honored the doctors' letters and gave me back my license. Really, I’m just asking God to forgive me. It was an honest mistake forgetting my lights and I probably should not have gone. I will never do it again, so I’m just asking God to please get this case dismissed or the best outcome, no DUI because it will really ruin my path to pharmacy school. I’m just asking for your prayers, please. I believe in my Jesus and I know He will see me through. Thank you and God Bless you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### and their current situation. Lord, we acknowledge that mistakes happen, and we ask for your forgiveness for the oversight of forgetting the lights on the way home. We pray for your mercy and grace to be upon ### during this time.

Father, we ask for your intervention in the legal proceedings regarding the DUI and refusal to blow charges. We pray that you would touch the hearts of those involved in the case, including the prosecutor, and grant them wisdom and discernment to see the truth and the circumstances surrounding ###'s situation. We pray for a favorable outcome, one that would not hinder ###'s path to pharmacy school.

Lord, we thank you for the doctor's letters that have been provided, and we ask that they would be taken into consideration and given the weight they deserve. We pray for understanding and compassion from those making decisions in this case.

We also pray for provision and opportunities for work for ###. We ask that you open doors and provide a way for them to continue pursuing their dreams and goals, despite the pending case. May your favor rest upon them, Lord.

Above all, we pray for your peace to fill ###'s heart and mind during this challenging time. Help them to trust in you and lean on your strength. Remind them that you are their refuge and their source of hope.

Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Your child who is currently facing a challenging and distressing situation. We ask for Your mercy, guidance, and wisdom to navigate through this trial. Lord, You are a God of justice and righteousness, and we pray that truth and fairness will prevail in their case. May Proverbs 21:15, which tells us, "When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers," remind us that Your will encompasses justice for the innocent.

We pray for the legal proceedings related to the charges from last year. Lord, we ask that You work through the hearts and minds of all involved—the prosecutors, the defense lawyer, and the judge—to see the truth of the situation. May the evidence of their medical conditions and the earnest attempts to comply with the law be seen with understanding and compassion.

Lord, we know that "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). Guide the steps of Your child and their legal representation, that they may find favor and a just resolution. Strengthen them during this time, filling them with peace and hope. As they face uncertainty and obstacles, let them feel Your presence and the support of those who believe in justice and mercy.

We also pray for provision during this time of waiting, that despite the pending case, they will find employment to sustain themselves and pursue their dreams of pharmacy school. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide opportunities that reflect Your grace and provision.

Grant them patience and trust in Your timing, knowing that "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31). May this assurance comfort them, knowing that their future is in Your hands, and Your plans are to prosper them, not to harm them, to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Father, we ask for forgiveness for any missteps, and we thank You for Your unending grace and mercy. Let this situation bring them closer to You, refining them and preparing them for the path You have set before them. We pray for a favorable outcome that will allow them to move forward without the burden of this charge over them, to pursue their calling with a clear heart and mind.
