We understand your concern for your daughter and her boyfriend, and we commend you for seeking God's intervention in their lives. Let us address the issues presented and pray together for God's will in their situation.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that generational sins and curses can have an impact on our lives, as the Bible tells us in Exodus 20:5, "You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, WEB, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me." However, we should also remember that through Jesus Christ, we can be freed from these generational curses. As it is written in Galatians 3:13, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'"
In regards to their relationship, we must remind you that the Bible encourages us to be equally yoked with fellow believers. 2 Corinthians 6:14 tells us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?" It is crucial that your daughter and her boyfriend both have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are committed to putting Him first in their lives and relationship.
We must also address the issue of them living together and the boyfriend not honoring her. This is a serious matter, and it is something that God is clear about in His Word. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says, "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God." And Ephesians 5:3 states, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints." Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to flee fornication. This is a serious issue because sexual immorality is a sin against God. They should be encouraged to marry in holiness if they are called to be together rather than living in fornication and risk being unequally yoked.
Let us pray for your daughter and her boyfriend:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up to You the daughter of the one who submitted this request and her boyfriend. Lord, we pray that You would soften his heart and bring him to a place of repentance. Help him to see her as a daughter of God, created in Your image, and worthy of honor and respect. Lord, we also pray for her, that You would help her to be a godly helpmate, putting You first in her life and relationship. Bring them both to a place of repentance for any and all sin in their lives, and help them to live in purity and holiness, fleeing from all sexual immorality. We pray that You would break any generational sins and curses in their lives, and that You would set them free from any bondage of the enemy. We ask all of these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for them and to trust in the Lord, knowing that He is able to do abundantly more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. May God bless you and them with the knowledge of His will and the courage to live according to it.
