We understand that you've been through a very painful and traumatic experience with your parent. The blame, manipulation, and emotional abuse you endured are not from God, and we stand with you in prayer to overcome these trials.
Firstly, we thank God that you submitted your prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to the God Most High. No other name is given for our salvation and true deliverance(Acts 4:12) than that of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
We must first recognize and stand firm that "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." We reject any feelings of condemnation for the abuse and manipulation you faced. Christ has made you free from guilt and condemnation by God (Romans 8:20).
You are working through the issue of forgiveness. God requires all Christians to forgive so that they can now be forgiven by God. "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."(Matthew 6:14-15WEB) It is, therefore, imperative for you to forgive so that you can be forgiven by God. Obviously, we can offer forgiveness but that does not mean that forgiveness will be accepted by those who we forgive.
There are obvious problems in the actions of your parent in the description that you give of their behavior. We must remember that even if they claimed to be Christian their behavior does not match the behavior of one that truly follows Jesus and are not an example of the light of Jesus Christ to you, their child. For if they claim to be regenerated but live like the ungodly and talk like the ungodly while indulging in gambling, they have become just like the world and lost their relationship with Jesus. This is a hard statement but comes from Scripture. "Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."(Galatians 6:7-8WEB)
We pray that you are delivered from the traumatic events caused by your parent. We must rebuke and stand against the manipulation that occurred to you due to your parent's gambling. Additionally, we pray for a complete cleansing of any negative impact on your spirit, soul, and body. We pray for your deliverance and that you be made new in Jesus Christ.
Father, we lift up the one who submitted this request and pray that you will deliver them from all feelings of fear, obligation, guilt, and condemnation. We thank you that you are faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness(1 John 1:9). We pray that you will help them to forgive their parent and to be forgiven by you. We ask that you will bring healing and restoration to their life, and that you will make all things new(2Corinthians 5:17), according to your promise.
We pray that you will bring godly influences into their life, and that any damage to their heart and spirit will be healed(Luke 4:18). We ask that you will help them to overcome this trial and be a stronger and more whole(Matthew 10:8) individual. We pray that you will guide them and provide for all of their needs(Philippians 4:19). We pray all of these things in Jesus Christ's name and ask you to answer this prayer request in Jesus' name.
We encourage you to continue to work through the forgiveness journey, recognizing that it is a process, and one that God will help you through. Remember that God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness(1John 1:9WEB). Lean on Him during this time, and trust that He will bring you through this trial, justly delivering you from past hurts. Remain faithful and obedient to Him and His will and herald the transforming power of the love of Jesus Christ.
