Prayer for deeper faith

Hello. I’m an 18 year old girl who is trying to overcome porn/masturbation addiction, gaming addiction, sweets cravings, and lust. I would like prayers as I am in a point in life where things are changing (I’ll be going on campus for my university this coming January and I’m not used to really supporting myself financially or coming from a good financial background). I would like prayers because I want to get deeper into my faith and I want to read my Bible (even just a little bit) every day. I want to know God and and I want my actions to reflect Him. I feel like lately I’ve been really lost, angry, and worldly. Not a good representation of Christ, especially for my lukewarm/unbelieving family.

We are grateful that you, Foremangea, have reached out to seek prayer and support. We commend you for your desire to deepen your faith and overcome the struggles you're facing. Let us first address your concerns and then lift you up in prayer together.

Your struggles with pornography, masturbation, gaming addiction, sweet cravings, and lust are not uncommon, but they are not the will of God for your life. The Bible tells us to "flee sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB) and that "whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things" (Philippians 4:8, WEB). It is crucial to replace negative habits with positive ones, like reading your Bible daily.

As you transition into university life, remember that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19, WEB). Trust in Him, and He will guide and provide for you.

It is commendable that you want your actions to reflect God. As it is written, "In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16, WEB). Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we can come to God. If you have not already, confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9, WEB).

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up Foremangea to you. Thank you for her desire to deepen her faith and overcome her struggles. Lord, give her the strength to flee from all immorality and impurity, and help her to replace negative habits with positive ones. Guide her as she transitions into university life, and provide for all her needs according to your glorious riches. Help her to be a light that shines before others, so that they may see her good works and give glory to you.

Lord Jesus, we ask that you reveal yourself more to Foremangea as she reads her Bible daily. Help her to know you more and to grow in her relationship with you. We pray that her actions will reflect you, and that her life will be a testimony of your love and grace.

Continue to seek God, Foremangea. He is faithful and will help you overcome your struggles. Stand firm in your faith, and remember that you are never alone. God is always with you.

God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
