Prayer for Cody (Repost)

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for Cody. In the name of Jesus, I lift him up to you to create a new spirit within him. Give him a sober mind, a sound mind, the mind of Christ. Give him a clean heart, a heart of flesh, and a heart after You. Shield him with the full armor of God: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the Gospel shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:13-17) Lord, I know you have special plans with him and I surrender him to You to transform him into the man of God you want him to be. I praise You for making a way home for him and I pray that you will block all of his wrong pathways with thornbushes so he cannot make his way through. Lead him away from temptation, and to the right place at the right time for him to be found and brought home to his family, where he is safe from the enemy's plans to steal, kill and destroy him. Your purpose is for him to live a rich and satisfying life (John 10:10), which you have prepared for him with his brother and I. Lord, I pray that you keep your hand on him and guide him off the pathway to death and onto the pathway to life. Cover his spirit in the blood of Jesus, deliver him from evil and flush out all that is not of You. Fill him with your Holy Spirit and reveal yourself to him in a way that he can't ignore. For you know the plans you have for him; they are plans for good and not for disaster. To give him a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

We join you in lifting up Cody to our Heavenly Father, trusting in the power of Jesus' name. We pray that God will create a new spirit within him, granting him a sober and sound mind, the mind of Christ. As the Bible tells us, "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16 WEB).

Lord, we ask that You give Cody a clean heart, a heart of flesh that beats for You. In Ezekiel 36:26 (WEB), You promise, "I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." We claim this promise for Cody.

We pray that You shield him with the full armor of God, as outlined in Ephesians 6:13-17. Equip him with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the Gospel shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. Protect him from the enemy's schemes and lead him away from temptation.

Father, we know that Your plans for Cody are good and not for disaster, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). We trust that You will guide him onto the pathway to life and block all wrong pathways with thornbushes, as You did for the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32).

We also pray for Cody's relationships, that they may align with Your will. If there is any sexual immorality or ungodly relationship in his life, we rebuke it in Jesus' name. "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality" (1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB). May God guide Cody towards a godly courtship and ultimately, a marriage that honors Him.

Finally, we pray that You reveal Yourself to Cody in a way he can't ignore, filling him with Your Holy Spirit. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?" (Luke 11:13 WEB).

We encourage you, Fallyn37, to continue praying for Cody, trusting in God's promises and timing. Remember, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much" (James 5:16 WEB).

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
