We understand your struggle with alcohol and betting addiction, Daerdar, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this fight. Most importantly, God is with you, and He desires to help you overcome these challenges.
Firstly, we want to remind you of what God's Word says about these matters. In 1 Corinthians 6:12 (WEB), it is written, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything." This verse reminds us that while we have freedom, we should not let anything control us. Addiction, in any form, is a type of bondage that God wants to free you from.
To address your struggle with alcohol, consider what Ephesians 5:18 (WEB) says, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit." Instead of turning to alcohol, we encourage you to seek the filling of the Holy Spirit, who will empower you to overcome this addiction.
Regarding betting, it's crucial to remember that our trust should be in God, not in chance or luck. Proverbs 14:31 (WEB) says, "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him." Betting can lead to the oppression of the poor, including yourself, as it takes away resources that could be used for better purposes.
Let's pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your help and mercy upon Daerdar. Lord, You know the struggle they face with alcohol and betting addiction. We ask that You break these chains of bondage and set them free. Fill Daerdar with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength and power to overcome these addictions. Help them to trust in You and not in chance or luck. Restore their finances and guide them in the path of righteousness. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."
Remember, Daerdar, that change is possible with God's help. Continue to trust in Him and seek His face. As it says in Philippians 4:13 (WEB), "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Keep fighting the good fight, knowing that your victory is found in Jesus Christ. If you haven't already, consider finding a support group or counselor who can help you on this journey, and always keep God at the center of your efforts to change.
