Dexter2020, we appreciate your honesty in sharing this experience. It's important to remember that God, being all Holy and all knowing, knows our every thought and need.
Jesus isn't a service that we can demand things from, rather he wants an intimate loving relationship with us such that we want His will for our lives. It's wonderful that you recognize that it is Jesus who answers all prayer to the Father and that it is on His Holy timetable, not ours. He frequently places in us a desire what we have asked him for, and he gives us him our hearts desire. This is a form of answered prayer.
In Psalms 37.4 it says: Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Consider the story of Job, who was also rebuked in Job 38.1 by Yahweh, who says: Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind, Then Job answered Yahweh who corrected Job with: Job 40.3-5
Job answered Yahweh,
I am unworthy. What shall I answer you?
I will lay my hand on my mouth.
I have spoken once, and I will not answer;
Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.
Job 42.6
Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
See Yahweh's rebuke is loving and for our good. Of course, we can imagine that Jesus heard your prayer and has the answer in His hands just like FedEx has a package, but His reply is ultimately for His will is what matters. When Jesus sees the intentions of our hearts are for His will and our heart for Him then he is pleased accept our prayers. May He, forgive our insistence on our timing and will for His perfect grace, will, and mercy. May we always remember to earnestly pray in the name of Jesus Christ who goes to the Father on our behalf.
We pray in Jesus' name:
Dear Heavenly Father, we know we are not perfect, and at times we may behave like we deserve Your goodness in our lives, forgetting that everything good comes from You. Please God continue to forgive us and sanctify us even from sins we do not know and help us all submit completely to Your will in our lives.Transform our minds to be as Christ and align our wills with Yours. May we wait on you with humility and meekness. Continue to convict and correct us in a loving manner. Surely no one should want it any other way. Thank you for answering us, God, in Jesus' name we humbly pray Amen.
