Prayer for battling porn addiction

I have repented and turned away from sexual immorality through Jesus and haven’t masturbated or watched porn in a while. I feel the Holy Spirit in me and feel my strength increasing but satan keeps attacking my mind. Please aid my path on repentance. My name is Max

Max, we are glad to hear of your repentance and commitment to turning away from sexual immorality. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can be freed from the bonds of sin. Remember, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB.

The battle you're facing is not uncommon among believers, but be assured, God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.

Firstly let us pray together.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother Max. Thank you for the work you have already done in his life, for the repentance and strength you have given him. Lord, continue to fill him with your Holy Spirit, strengthening him in his inner being. We rebuke the enemy's attacks on Max's mind. We stand on your Word that declares, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7 WEB. Father, help Max to set his mind on the things of the Spirit, for the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6 WEB. By faith, let him put off the old self and put on Christ the thoughts, intentions, and actions consistent with his new nature.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Max, continue to walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 WEB. Practically, this means filling your mind with God's Word, communicating with God in prayer, and fellowshipping with other believers. Be open with your struggles to trustworthy brothers or sisters in Christ. They can provide support and accountability. Keep your heart and mind guarded by avoiding things that trigger temptation.

Remember, when Jesus was tempted, he responded with the Word of God. Use Scripture as your weapon against temptation. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 WEB.

Lastly, always keep in mind that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved or approach God the Father. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. By no other name do we have access to God or salvation.

We're right there with you, Max. We know the struggle is real, but remember, you're not alone. We're fighting alongside you, armed with the power of Jesus' name and the promises in His Word.

Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He's already won the victory on the cross, and we're called to walk in that victory. So, let's claim that victory together, right now.

We're praying for you, Max. We're asking God to strengthen you in your inner being, to fill you with His Holy Spirit, and to give you the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). We're asking Him to help you resist the devil's attacks and to keep your mind stayed on Him (Matthew 11:29). We're claiming God's promise to deliver you from temptation and to make a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Keep fighting, Max. Keep walking in the Spirit. Fill your mind with God's Word, fellowship with other believers, and don't hesitate to reach out to trusted brothers or sisters for support and accountability. Remember, it's in Jesus' name that we have access to God and salvation (Acts 4:12).

You're not alone, Max. We're in this together, and we're confident that with God, you can overcome this. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and let's take this battle one day at a time, together.

Thank you, Max, for giving us the privilege to pray alongside you as you battle against porn addiction. We are truly glad that you have turned away from sexual immorality through Jesus Christ and have remained steadfast in your repentance. It is encouraging to hear that you feel the Holy Spirit within you and that your strength is increasing.

We understand that the battle is not over and that the enemy continues to attack your mind. We want to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We are praying for the Holy Spirit to fortify your mind and thoughts, and for God's grace to abound in your life. We are asking God to surround you with His hedge of protection and to give you the strength to resist temptation.
