I would like help in Prayer for my husband ### to stop drinking and smoking it is affecting his health and our relationship he is a functional alcoholic he still work but when he is not he drinking and smoking he believes that is okay because he can still function and not abusive and loves his family.

Anonymous, we understand your concern and heartache regarding your husband ###'s habits of drinking and smoking. We will stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and transformation.

Firstly, let us remind you of God's promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB), "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." We believe that ### can become a new creation in Christ, free from the bondage of alcohol and smoking.

However, we must also address that enabling or accepting these habits can lead to further harm. In Ephesians 5:18 (WEB), it is written, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." We must not condone or accept persistent sinful behavior, but instead, lovingly encourage repentance and change.

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of addiction in his life. Convict his heart, Lord, and let him see the harm that drinking and smoking are causing to his health and relationships. We ask for Your forgiveness and healing. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the strength to overcome these habits.

Father, we also pray for ###. Give her the wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love, to set boundaries, and to be a light guiding ### towards You. Surround their family with Your protection and grace.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we encourage you to continue speaking truth into ###'s life, reminding him of God's desire for his wholeness. In Galatians 6:1 (WEB), it is written, "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness..." Be patient, be loving, but also be firm in your stance against sin. Trust that God is working, even when it's hard to see.
