We are truly saddened to hear about the situation you are facing with your husband. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's intervention in your marriage.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB), and His desire is for reconciliation and restoration in marriages. We also recognize that God does not intend for us to live in fear or abuse. Your safety is important, and if there is any threat to your physical well-being, please take necessary steps to ensure your safety. It is not unbiblical to separate if there is abuse happening, but it is important to have the goal of restoring the marriage in reconciliation.
It is crucial to understand that God can change even the hardest of hearts. Remember the promise in Ezekiel 36:26 WEB, "I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." We stand with you in believing that God can transform your husband's heart of stone into a heart of flesh.
We also want to address the issue of your husband's behavior being hidden from the church family. In God's timing, the truth will be revealed. As it is written in Luke 8:17 WEB, "For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light." Continue to walk in integrity and truth, and trust that God will expose what needs to be brought to light.
Regarding the response from the senior pastor, we encourage you to continue praying for wisdom and discernment. It is possible that the pastor may not fully understand the situation, and we pray that God will give you the words and opportunity to express the truth in love. Consider seeking support from other godly counselors or mentors as well.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is in need of Your divine intervention in her marriage. Lord, You see the anger and rage that her husband harbors, and we ask that You soften his heart of stone and give him a heart of flesh. Touch his heart, Lord, and bring about true repentance and transformation in his life.
We also pray for our sister, that You would give her the strength, wisdom, and courage to navigate this difficult situation. Surround her with godly support and guidance, and help her to walk in truth and integrity. Reveal what needs to be brought to light, Lord, and bring about justice and restoration in their marriage.
We also lift up the senior pastor and the church family, that You would give them discernment and understanding of the true nature of this situation. Help them to support and encourage our sister in a way that honors You and brings about healing and restoration.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
