If I might encourage you. A lot of times when we see something affecting a loved one, the best thing to do is change how you see it. When God looks at us, He does not see 'sin', but he sees who we can be and are in Christ. The Spirit of God is all and in all, which means, the Spirit of God is in your brother. So we change the vision from alcoholic to a man who has discovered that he has the mind of Christ and can and does walk in freedom from that bondage. I've had experiences in my own personal life where I had to see from the lens of God's view. I heard a teaching where Jesus, when he saw Matthew, he did not see a tax collector (who was hated) but saw Matthew. Saw the man God created him to be. Many times when we see someone, we see them in their drug, alcohol, state and it's hard to see them different. But God sees us as righteous and it. simply takes someone to see with the lens that God sees with. Does that make sense?
