We understand that you are seeking prayer for someone who is struggling with alcohol. We want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is written in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Firstly, we must address the use of "Lord" in the prayer request. While it is not wrong to use reverent titles, it is important to acknowledge God's holy and unique name. Lord can be added to the name of Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus' name because it is through Him that we have access to God the Father. We must always remember that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Let us pray for this person and remind them of the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who is battling with alcohol. We know Father God, that You have compassion for all people and do not want anyone to perish. We ask that You break the chains of addiction Father God, and bring deliverance and healing to this person just as you have done for many others.
We pray Father God, that this person will turn away from their sin and be drawn closer to You, experiencing the fullness of Your love and grace. We ask that You will bring them back to church and surround them with a supportive community of believers to help them grow in their faith and walk with You. We also pray that this person will be cognizant of the scripture in Corinthians 6:20 WEB For you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
May Your Holy Spirit convict them Father God, and guide them in the way of righteousness and truth. May they be reminded that we are called to glorify God in our bodies and spirits, which belong to Him. We know that it is only through the power of Jesus Christ that true freedom and restoration can be found.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is the power and wisdom of God. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
