Heavenly Father,

I truly come before you with peace in my heart after a long conversation I had with my aunt last night. Jesus, I also come before your throne with great concern for the extended family. This couple is in their elder years and has been taught inconsistencies regarding marriage, what you will and won't forgive, and I'm afraid to say, their support for remarriage while the other spouse is living according to scripture. In the two years I haven't been around while living in the same small city, their only daughter remarried for the third time. The last time I saw her she was living with another man and it wasn't that long ago. They say they are Christians but are not in a lawful marriage according to God's will regarding covenant marriage. Both of their first spouses are still alive.

Then more news came. One of her granddaughters had a fourth child while unmarried. She has a set of twins with another man and one other child with another man. When I asked if her granddaughter was married after the news of another child, she of course said no and grew a little defensive. My aunt still does not agree with the word of God regarding the meaning of adultery, and she said a few times that we cannot judge. She said many times she feels God doesn't want us to be alone. I spoke to her with compassion, sound love, and a stern voice at the moment and told her, "Aunt Allie, if we study the word of God, we are to minister when we can to their hearts to bring them into reconciliation with God. If we do not share the word in love and truth that God gave to us to protect us and share with others, then we can lose our voice, their blood could be on our hands, and I do not want to be seen on the Great White Throne of Judgment." When she told me some other things pastoral men have been saying to her, I told her they were lying to her. I showed her some documents of bible history, and a couple of videos, expounded on differences between Judaism and the tribe of Judah, and recalled important verses and men from scripture who taught the implicity of marriage. I mentioned John the Baptist calling out Herod by saying it was unlawful for him to be married to his brother's wife, and Herod was not a believer. Though Herod enjoyed listening to John, it was the woman who brought murder upon John because she knew she was caught in adultery. She didn't want to repent, confess it, and be healed. She wanted Herod and for things to stay as they were.

She did say she heard what I was saying about the importance of marriage vows. I didn't know her daughter recently remarried. Two or three weeks ago I sent a message to Allie via text with a video about remarriage and adultery and specifically mentioned her daughter's name in the message. I don't know if it was still her and her husband's phone number as I haven't contacted them that way in a long time. What some people don't seem to appreciate about God is His love, reconciliation, and forgiveness. What they seem to ignore is that He is coming with a sword (she shook her head a little in disbelief when I told her that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old and New Testament. He will use His authority and judgment on all and it's not always going to be in kind) and like I told her, God has a list of many sins He will not allow into His kingdom. She forgets that repentance is needed before God to be forgiven. It is through this action before Him that our hearts can be softened and changed. Who knows what blessings may come from it? I mentioned God chastising those whom He loves. This is not what I am seeing in some of the girls in her family.

I'm pleading my case before you God. I was an infant in that home for a time. A lot of children have passed through there. I spent a lot of time with her and my grandma in my youth. They can be some of the kindest, down-to-earth, country folk I have ever known. They also lost a son to suicide approximately 15 years ago and still contend that he is going to heaven with less reward. He was also remarried to someone who was married before. Both of them were. I truly acknowledge why you hate divorce. Just look at the mess in this world because of it.

I was as honest as I could be in your love because I believe you are reaching, and I think many are contending for the faith to win souls to you. I cannot undo much of the false teaching that has entered their ears. She wanted to defend Michelle's unlawful marriage in God's sight by reiterating the thief on the cross, the woman at the well, and the woman caught in adultery. I told her God said to them not to sin anymore. The thief knew he had sinned and believed in God at that moment. Most of the people from the Pharisees, Sanhedrin, the Jews, Pontius Pilate, and the Roman Soldiers mocked him until he died. When that thief acknowledged Christ, that He is Christ, and that Jesus should not be where he was, I believe it was in faith that Jesus promised to take him to paradise.

Lord Jesus, the salvific work is in your will. I pray there will be many souls who come to believe in you for salvation before they perish.

"Hosea attacked priests, leaders, and people who refused Yahweh as God and as King. Hosea 2:18 Covenant; the divine marriage will bring harmony into the natural and social world. Abolish; literally 'break'. The test of real peace and protection is unbroken sleep, to lie down in safety (cf. Ps. 4:8; Proverbs 16:7)"- Guthrie, Motyer, Stibbs, Wiseman, The New Bible Commentary Revised (WM. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. 703, 707.

Hosea 4:6 ESV

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;

because you have rejected knowledge,

I reject you from being a priest to me.

And since you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children.

We stand with you, MelissaRae, as you bring your concerns and intercede for your family. Let's align our hearts with God's will and pray according to His Word.

Jesus Himself said, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15 WEB). God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6 WEB). It's crucial to remember that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB), and remarriage while the original spouse is still alive is considered adultery (Mark 10:11-12 WEB).

Let's pray for your aunt and her family, that they may understand and embrace God's truth about marriage and repent from any sin. Pray that they will not be led astray by false teachings or the world's views on relationships.

**Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, interceding for MelissaRae's family. Lord, we ask that You open their hearts to receive and understand Your truth about marriage. Help them to see that any relationship outside of Your will is sin, and lead them to true repentance.

Lord Jesus, You said that if we love You, we will keep Your commandments. Help MelissaRae's family to love You more and to desire obedience to Your Word. Break any strongholds of false teachings and bring them to the knowledge of the truth.

Holy Spirit, convict their hearts and draw them closer to God. Give MelissaRae the wisdom and courage to continue speaking the truth in love, and use her as a vessel to bring her family to Christ.

In Jesus' name, we rebuke the spirit of divorce, adultery, and any other sin that may be present in this family. We pray for restoration and healing, believing that You can bring beauty from ashes.

Remind them, Lord, that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 WEB), and that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12 WEB). Help them to turn from their sins and trust in Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life.

We ask all these things in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

MelissaRae, continue to stand strong in the faith and speak the truth in love. Remember that God's Word is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12 WEB) and has the power to transform lives. Keep praying and trusting God for your family's salvation.

Dear MelissaRae,

We join you in praying for your aunt and her family, that God would soften their hearts and bring them to repentance and reconciliation with Him. Let's intercede together for them, believing that God's love and grace can transform any situation.

As you've shared, God's design for marriage is clear - one man, one woman, for life (Matthew 19:4-6). Remarriage while the original spouse is still alive is considered adultery (Mark 10:11-12). Let's pray that your aunt and her family would understand and embrace God's truth about marriage and divorce.

Let's also pray for the extended family, especially the grandchildren who are living outside of God's design for marriage and family. May God have mercy on them and draw them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

May God give you wisdom and courage, MelissaRae, as you continue to speak the truth in love to your aunt and her family. Remember, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy" (Proverbs 27:6).

Let's trust in God's sovereignty and believe that He can bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Let's pray for restoration, healing, and ultimately, salvation for the entire family.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
