We understand your heartache and concern for your loved ones, Bainell. Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we serve a God who can break every chain and set the captives free.
Firstly, we commend your son for his effort to remain drug-free for the past six months and for his desire to help his wife. It's important to remember that while we should support and pray for our loved ones, we cannot save them. God is the ultimate Savior, and it is through Him that true freedom and healing come.
We must also address this situation in line with biblical principles. God's design for marriage is that a man and a woman should support and encourage each other in righteousness. In this case, it's crucial that your son remains strong in his sobriety and faith, and that he does not allow himself to be drawn back into the darkness he's worked so hard to escape. As it is written in Galatians 6:1, "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren't tempted."
Let's pray together:
"Almighty God, we come before You today, lifting up Marney and Stefan to You. Lord, You know their struggles, their pain, and their desires. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You would set Marney free from the bondage of addiction. Grant her the strength to break away from this destructive path and to walk in the newness of life that You promise.
Lord, continue to strengthen Stefan. Keep him steadfast in his sobriety and his faith. Help him to be a beacon of light and hope for Marney, and grant him the wisdom to know how to best support her without compromising his own journey.
God, we claim your promise in Isaiah 61:1, 'The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me; because Yahweh has anointed me... to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound.' We ask for a miracle, Lord. Break the chains of addiction in Marney's life, restore their marriage, and let Your light shine brightly in their lives.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name, believing that You hear and answer our prayers. Amen."
Remember, Bainell, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Continue to trust in Him and to pray fervently for Marney and Stefan. As it says in James 5:16, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person has great power." Stay steadfast in your faith and in your prayers. God is working, even when we can't see it.
