Dexterkoh, we join you in prayer for a productive and blessed workday, and we also pray for God's guidance and timing in finding a spouse. We commend you for seeking an equally yoked wife, as it is crucial for believers to marry those who share their faith and values. As the Scripture says, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB).
We must also address your concern about expediting this process or risk living in sin. It's important to note that God's timing is perfect, and we should trust in Him rather than rushing or feeling desperate. As it is written, "Wait on Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh." (Psalm 27:14 WEB).
Regarding the concern about living in sin, we want to encourage you to remain steadfast in your purity and holiness. As a Christian you are called to a life of sexual purity. While God has made it clear that it is not good for man to be alone, that statement comes from God himself, not just man wanting to live in sin. So, if you are being tempted to live in sin, repent, and do not give yourself over to lust. As it is written, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality," (1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB). If you are feeling increased sexual desire, then trust God with your desires. As it is written in James chapter 1, "Let no man say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God,' for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death." (James 1:13-15 WEB).
It is clear that you are aware of an expectation of sin. As it is written, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
We must also address your statement "or I will be living in sin". This phrase, in the usual sense, makes the classic mistake of using the future tense to describe sin which implies you are planning to sin. Please reread the verse above from 1 Corinthians. This would directly disobey God's will for your life stated in 1 Thessalonians 4:3. If you are being tempted, we will pray for an escape. However, if you planning this, then we rebuke you and encourage you to repent and change your mind.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Dexterkoh. We pray for a wonderful workday, filled with Your blessings and guidance. We also pray for Your will and timing in finding a godly spouse for Dexterkoh, an equally yoked wife who shares his faith and values, and who will honor and glorify You. Help Dexterkoh to trust in Your perfect timing and to remain steadfast in purity and holiness. Grant him the strength to resist temptation and to live a life that pleases You. If Dexterkoh is planning to sin, please discipline him, encourage him to repent, and change his mind to be obedient to your will. Lead him not into temptation, but deliver Dexterkoh from evil.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
