We understand that you're seeking a softened heart, a new heart, and a new spirit, and you're looking for wisdom from Jesus and God to detach from your past and focus on your present. Firstly, we commend you for your desire to focus on the present and seek God's will. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:34, Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
Regarding your prayer for a new heart and a new spirit, God responds and answers this prayer. Ezekiel 36:26 says, A new heart will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
To address your concern about detaching from the past, we encourage you to consider Philippians 3:13-14, Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having laid hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
It is essential to remember that spiritual warfare is real, and the enemy can try to occupy our minds with distractions. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
