We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Isobel Vlahakis and we join you in lifting her and her loved ones up in prayer. In times like these, we find comfort in the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (WEB):
"But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Isobel Vlahakis. We thank You for her life and the impact she had on those around her. We pray that You comfort her family and friends in their time of grief, remind them of the hope they have in Jesus Christ, and help them to trust in Your promise of eternal life. Help us all to live in a way that honors Your name and prepares us for the day when we too will be called home. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
In this time of sorrow, we encourage you to draw near to God and find comfort in His love. Psalm 147:3 (WEB) tells us that God "heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds." Trust in Him, for He is our refuge and strength.
We also want to gently remind you, if you have not already, to put your trust in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have any doubts or questions about this, we encourage you to reach out so we can guide you further.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).
