Joy, we join you in your prayer, seeking God's will for your life. We appreciate that you've acknowledged that God's timing and will are crucial in this matter.
Firstly, we want to clarify that the Bible encourages us to seek a spouse, not just a partner. A spouse is someone whom you can love and cherish in a lifelong commitment, as described in Mark 10:7-9: "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate."
We pray that God will indeed grant you a godly, caring, respectful, and loving spouse. We pray that this person will be genuine and truly seek to love you as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). We also pray that God will prepare you for this union, that He will restore and improve you, molding you into the person He designed you to be. As it is written in Psalm 138:8, "Yahweh will perfect that which concerns me. Your loving kindness, Yahweh, endures forever. Donβt forsake the works of your own hands."
We want to encourage you to trust in God's timing. Psalm 37:7 reminds us to "rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him." God knows the desires of your heart, and He will fulfill them according to His will and in His time (Psalm 37:4).
Lastly, we want to remind you that God's love is the ultimate love that we all need. While it's natural to desire human companionship, remember that God's love is unfailing and unconditional. As Psalm 147:3 tells us, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister Joy. Lord, You know the desires of her heart, and we ask that You will grant her a godly spouse according to Your will and in Your time. Prepare her, Lord, restore her, and improve her. Mold her into the woman You designed her to be. In the meantime, Lord, fill her with Your love and comfort her with Your presence. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
