We understand that you're seeking prayer for a good day at work, free from stress, and that you're concerned about job security and discrimination. Firstly, we encourage you to remember that our work is a means of glorifying God and serving others. As it is written in Colossians 3:23-24 WEB, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."
Let's pray for your workday:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking a peaceful and productive day at work. Guide their steps today, Lord, and help them to perform their duties with excellence and integrity. Remove any stress or anxiety they may face, and replace it with Your perfect peace. Give them wisdom to navigate any challenges they may encounter, and help them to be a light for You in their workplace.
Now for the issue of job loss and illegal activity. We are taught to respect and honor the laws of our land as long as they do not conflict with God's law. We are reminded in Romans 13:1-2 WEB, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and they that withstand will receive to themselves judgment."
Concerning discrimination, We would remind you to not return discrimination for discrimination, hatred for hatred, or evil for evil. In Matthew 5:43-44 WEB, Jesus tells us, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,"
Let's pray for this situation:
Dear Lord,
We pray for those who are involved in illegal activities, that they would repent and turn to You. We ask that You would soften the hearts of those who discriminate against others, and help them to see the value of every person as Your creation. We pray for a fair and just workplace for all. We also pray for those in authority, that You would guide them to make decisions that honor You and benefit all people.
Finally, we notice that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, for is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved.
We pray for your salvation:
Dear Lord,
We ask that You would reveal yourself to our brother/sister, and draw them to Yourself. Help them to see their need for You, and to place their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. Help them to see that you love them and want a personal loving relationship with them. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
May you find peace and purpose in your work today aware of God's ongoing presence with you and the love of God for you and all people.
