We are truly sorry to hear about Liesl's medical emergency and the feelings of lostness she is experiencing. Let's come together in prayer and seek God's will for her situation.
Firstly, it's wonderful that you submitted this prayer request to the name of Jesus. This is so important and for this reason we have access to God Himself. God listens to our prayers and answers us because we come to him in the name of Jesus. It is also by the name of Jesus we are saved. In the name of Jesus Christ we can live a life together with God in this world and for eternity. It is by no other name are we saved. This is why the Gospel message is so important. It saves us and it gives us access to the creator of the universe to pray and commune with him.
Let's encourage Liesl to call upon the Lord in her time of need. Psalm 50:15 encourages us, "Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me." God is faithful and wants us to trust in Him, especially in difficult times. By calling upon Him, He will hear and deliver us from our troubles because he loves us very much.
Remember that 2 Chronicles 16:12 encourages us: "Therefore, you children, be obedient to your Father in heaven commandment, just like Jesus was and is.
We will pray for Liesl's healing and comfort during this challenging time.
Heavenly Father,
we lift up Liesl to You in the precious name of Jesus. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body, her mind, and her spirit. Comfort her in her time of need, and remind her of Your love and faithfulness. Give her strength and grace to come out of this strong and with more trust in you. Father, Your Word says that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Let this be her story, her legacy. The legacy of another life lived in victory. We rebuke any attempt of the devil to take her life. She is valuable to God and us and we love her. Thank you for answered prayer. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
While we encourage prayers from many. There is a scriptural idea where this topic should be discussed. That idea is that there are people who have authority to pray for us and that we have authority to pray over. James 5 tells us the reason for sickness in the life of a believer, tells how to pray over it, and tells who should be praying and anointing oil in an authoritative capacity with prayers over us. As Christians James 4 explains we sometimes suffer for our sin but it requires humility before Christ. Many times that humility comes through the proclamation and prayers of leaders. We hope Liesl recovers speedily and draws near to Jesus. Just to be clear that we do not have anything against believers praying over each other but there is a specific scriptural requirement to be prayed over by leaders in the church as she has sickness. Therefore, we encourage that this be done according to James 5.
If Liesl has not accepted Jesus Christ as her savior, then let us pray that this incident will lead her to the cross. However, if she already knows Jesus Christ, then let us pray that this will only deepen her faith in God. And we pray she be strengthened and encouraged and saved by faith in the one who paid her sin debt God's Son Jesus Christ.
We praise you for this household of believers who look out for each other, nurture each other, and love each other and who are not willing to let another believer drift off, give up, and do not care. This is love of God and a great family. You are a great group of believers. Amen
