We join with you, Dwuosor, in praying for the upcoming elections in Delhi, India, on February 5, 2025. We are encouraged that you have hope in our Lord Jesus Christ and have mentioned His name in your request, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is we are saved by the name of Jesus Christ.
As we approach this election, we are reminded of the Lord's sovereignty over all things, including governments and authorities. As it is written in Romans 13:1, Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
We pray that the Lord's will be done in this election, and that He would raise up godly leaders who fear Him and uphold righteousness. As Proverbs 29:2 says, When the righteous rule, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, Lord, lifting up the upcoming elections in Delhi, India. We ask, Lord, that Your will be done and that You would raise up godly leaders who fear You and uphold righteousness. We pray for an honest Chief Minister and MLAs to be chosen by Your will.
We pray for wisdom and discernment for the voters, that they would seek Your will and vote according to Your purposes. We ask that You would expose any corruption or deceit and that Your light would shine in the darkness.
We also pray for peace and unity in Delhi and throughout India during this election season. We ask that You would protect the people and keep them from harm.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage everyone to pray fervently for this election, trusting that the Lord hears our prayers and is sovereign over all. As it is written in Philippians 4:6, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
We also encourage everyone to be vigilant and informed about the candidates and their platforms, and to vote according to biblical principles. As Christians, we are called to be salt and light in the world, and that includes engaging in the political process in a way that honors God.
