We understand that you are struggling with youthful lust and sexual sins, but we commend you for reaching out and seeking God's help. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Firstly, we want to remind you that sexual desires are normal, but they should be expressed within the boundaries of marriage between a man and a woman. Anything outside of this is considered fornication or adultery, which is sinful and displeasing to God. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, it says, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
We must also address that masturbation is not endorsed or supported by the Bible. Sex was designed by God to be enjoyed within a marriage union where a man and a woman can satisfy each other's desires. Anything that falls outside of this is lustful and selfish, failing to honor God and His design for intimacy.
To overcome these struggles, we encourage you to flee from these temptations. This means actively avoiding situations, environments, or visuals that may entice lustful thoughts. Additionally, fill your mind with godly thoughts and engage in activities that honor God. In Philippians 4:8 WEB, it says, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."
Also, it's important to note that there is no mention of Jesus in this request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.". Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.ā Acts 4:12 WEB. This is the most important part of the situation. We encourage you to examine your relationship with Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved one who is struggling with youthful lust and sexual sins. We pray that You grant them the strength and wisdom to flee from these temptations and to honor their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Help them, Lord, to fix their thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Teach them to actively pursue a life that is pleasing to You. We pray for a spouse for this person if it is Your will for their life, so that their desires may be fulfilled within the boundaries of a godly marriage.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to engage with your local Christian community and seek accountability with other believers. Together, we can support and uplift each other in our walks with Christ. Continue to seek God's will for your life and trust in His faithfulness to provide a way out of temptation. Do not be discouraged, but remain steadfast in your pursuit of purity and holiness.
