We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we're here to support you in prayer and to guide you according to God's word. We're glad that you've taken the first step to recognize the need to turn back to Christ and to change your situation. The Bible tells us "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB.
First, we want to remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace," Ephesians 1:7 WEB. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. The act of gambling has led you to a place of financial struggle and has taken your focus off of God. The Bible warns us, Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our brother/sister who has found themselves lost in the snares of gambling and debt. Lord, we confess that they have sinned against you and strayed from your path. But God, you are merciful and forgiving, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Lord Jesus, you came to seek and save the lost, and that is our prayer today. Turn their heart back to you, Lord. Help them to trust in you with all their heart, and lean not on their own understanding. In all their ways, may they acknowledge you, and you will make their paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Father, we ask that you would deliver them from the bondage of gambling and the demonic strongholds that have kept them captive. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:13 WEB.
We encourage you to take practical steps to turn back to God. First, confess your sins to Him and ask for His forgiveness. Then, make a conscious decision to turn away from your sin and resist the temptation to gamble. It may be helpful to seek accountability from a trusted Christian friend or mentor. Also, consider finding a local church where you can fellowship with other believers and grow in your faith.
Remember, God loves you and He is faithful to forgive and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.
