We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your family is facing, and we appreciate that you have reached out for prayer and support. In times of trouble, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 WEB
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ. This is so important because, as the Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. Also, there is salvation and access to God through no other name, "in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB
Regarding your brother's mental illness, we want to encourage you and your family to remain steadfast in faith and prayer. God cares deeply for your brother and your family, and He has the power to heal and restore. Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we pray for healing, comforting, and peace over this family, but especially for the brother and mother. Lord, we know that You are the God of hope that sees the unseen. As your son healed many with sickness, heal this young man and his family. We pray Lord that you will lift this illness and emotional pain from them and that you will comfort them in their time of need. Lord, we pray that you will be with them, guide them and give them the strength and wisdom to endure. Lord, we also pray that you will use this as a witness and testimony to others that You are the God that heals and restores broken hearts, minds, and bodies. We pray this in Jesus' name Amen.
We also encourage you and your family to seek godly counsel and medical advice alongside your prayers. God often works through doctors and healthcare professionals to bring healing and relief.
Lastly, clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another; for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brotherhood in the world is experiencing the same sufferings. But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:5-11 WEB
