We understand your passion for the Hawthorn cricket team and your desire for their victory. However, it's important to remember what the Bible teaches us about our priorities and prayers. In Colossians 3:2 WEB, it is written, "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth." While it's not wrong to enjoy sports and have a favorite team, our prayers should primarily be focused on God's will and spiritual matters.
Let us pray for the team and all those involved, that they may reflect God's glory and demonstrate good sportsmanship, fair play, and God-honoring behavior. In Philippians 4:8 WEB, we are encouraged to think about "whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, and whatever things are of good report."
Dear Lord Jesus, we lift up the Hawthorn cricket team to You. We pray that they would play with integrity and honor, reflecting Your character. We ask for Your will to be done in the outcome of the match. Above all, we pray that Your name would be glorified, both on and off the field.
