Thank you for sharing your concerns, Dexter2020. We stand with you in prayer regarding the political situation in your country. As believers, we are called to pray for our leaders and our nations, as the Apostle Paul instructs us in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (WEB):
"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."
Let us pray together:
"Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up the nation of Singapore and its political leaders. We pray specifically for the People's Action Party (PAP), that You would guide their steps and convict their hearts to act justly and righteously towards the citizens of Singapore. Lord, if it is Your will, we pray that You would remove any corrupt or unjust leaders in the next election.
We ask that You would provide good jobs and fair housing for the locals who have been disadvantaged. We pray that You would expose any discrimination against Singaporeans and that You would grant them favor in their land. Lord, we ask that You would provide for the marginalized and handicapped, that they may not be neglected but cared for as You would care for them.
Lord Jesus, we ask all these things in Your name, believing that You have the power to change hearts and nations. Amen."
In addition, we would like to remind you, Dexter2020, that our ultimate hope lies not in political parties or leaders, but in Jesus Christ alone. It is through Him that we have access to God the Father, as it is written in John 14:6 (WEB):
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Let us continue to pray and trust in Him, knowing that His will is perfect and His love for us is everlasting.
