We understand your concern and commend you for seeking prayer and discernment in this matter. Firstly, we want to assure you that your actions were wise, as the Bible tells us to abstain from all appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22 WEB). The book you discarded was indeed rooted in evil practices such as medium and Ouija boards.
The book is based on divination and necromancy which are explicitly forbidden by God, Deuteronomy 18:10-12 WEB, When you are come into the land which WEB Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to WEB Lord: and because of these abominations WEB Lord your God does drive them out from before you. These practices are an abomination to God, and we are to have no part in them.
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You are the only source of true spiritual protection. We pray for our brother/sister who discarded a book based on evil practices. We ask that You would put a hedge of protection around them, their home, and their loved ones, preventing any retaliation or influence from the evil one, Ephesians 6:16 WEB, above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
We pray that the book would not resurface, and that no one else would be exposed to its harmful content. We ask that You would expose and destroy all works of the evil one including this book, 2 Thessalonians 1:8 WEB, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Father, we also pray for those who are involved in such practices, that You would deliver them from the power of darkness and bring them into the kingdom of your dear Son, Colossians 1:13 WEB, who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who has all power and authority over the evil one, and by whose name we are saved, Acts 4:12 WEB, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. We know that he who is in us is greater than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4 WEB, You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Amen."
Be encouraged, for God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Keep your faith and trust in Him, and He will protect and guide you.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You. Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
