We understand your concern and heartache for your grandchild, and we join you in prayer, trusting in the power of Jesus' name to intervene in this situation. Let us first address the issue of negative influences and the importance of godly friendships. As it is written in the World English Bible (WEB), "Do not be deceived. 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33). It is crucial for your grandchild to understand that the company he keeps can greatly influence his life and his walk with God.
We also want your grandchild to know that Godly advice and reproof can be trusted. "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end." (Proverbs 19:20)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved grandchild. Lord, You see the path he is taking and how he has been influenced by his companions. We pray that You would remove these negative influences from his life and surround him with godly friends who will encourage him to follow You wholeheartedly, as it is written, "He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." (Proverbs 13:20).
Father, we ask that You would give him a heart that desires to follow You and to put You first in all his decisions, as it is written, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33). Help him to understand that true happiness and peace can only be found in You, not in the fleeting pleasures of this world.
Lord, we also pray for his grandmother, that You would comfort her and give her peace, knowing that You are at work in her grandchild's life. Help her to trust in You and to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her and her grandchild, as it is written, "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7).
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to You and the only name by which we can be saved. As it is written, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12) If your grandchild has strayed from their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we pray you would draw them near to You again.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for your grandchild and to trust in God's faithfulness. Remember that God loves your grandchild even more than you do, and He desires the best for him. Stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is at work, even when you cannot see it. It is also helpful to continue to discuss these issues with your grandchild and not let the subject be swept aside. Remind him of your prayers and the scriptures and openly discuss them with him. "Let us not therefore judge one another any more; but judge ye this rather, that no man put a stumbling-block in his brother's way, or an occasion of falling." (Romans 14:13)
As we have reiterated, it is important to encourage your grandchild to seek God first and to surround himself with godly influences. Continue to speak the truth in love to him, reminding him of the importance of following Jesus and the dangers of being led astray by negative influences. Trust in God's timing and His faithfulness, knowing that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
