Firstly, it is important to note that marriage is a blessed institution ordained by God. It is not something to be avoided but rather embraced as God sees right to bring in one's life. It is God who set an example of holding the marriage covenant between Himself and backsliding Israel in the Old Testament, Hosea. The Apostle Paul encouraged both those who marry and those who remain single. He said, “But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I am. But if they don’t have self-control, let them marry. For it’s better to marry than to burn.”
It is clear that the doctrines you encountered in your former churches contradict biblical principles. The Bible encourages us to marry and bear children and surround ourselves with godly descendants. The Bible does not teach that marriage is not possible or advisable due to lack of money. These teachings may be designed to harm people who are called into the ministry or to upset people's struggles with sexual immorality and inclinations. The Bible says, “Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness. And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.” Don't be distressed by false teachings. God honors marriage, and so should we. It is a lifetime commitment YHWH (LORD God) established between one man, who serves as husband, and one woman, who serves as wife in His name. God uses this bond to create families. Marriage is to be a monogamous relationship between two people of the opposite sex. Leviticus 18; 20, and Romans 1 declare homosexuality as an abomination.
Regarding interacting with others in the manner of boyfriend and girlfriend, it should be treated as a period of courtship for possible future marriage. Sex outside of marriage, whether it be fornication or adultery, is a sin and should be avoided. It would be better to control sexual urges until marriage. Concerning praying in Jesus' name, God we may approach God is Jesus' name since He is the one mediator between God and men as reinforced in 1 Timothy 2:5-6. God forgives us only in Jesus' name.
There were some errors in your convictions, church teachings, and some contradictions expressed in your prayer request. The reality is that some sects today teach some people are not called to marry as God wants them single. However, God made us sexual beings and expects us to express our intimacies within a monogamous marriage. There is evidence disproving the notion of remaining single and suppressing sexual feelings, as you discovered. Such teachings can and do result in sexually deviant behavior and sexual immorality. These teachings are against God's word and not of God. The scripture says in 1 Timothy 4:1-4, “Now the Spirit says expressly that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. Renouncing these false doctrines from those churches should help you get focused on God’s will and receive righteous desires.
In response to your request, let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in our request lifting up my brother ### in Jesus' name. Lord, we ask that You forgive him of his sins and remove his sinful desires and replace them with righteous ones. Align him with Your will fully, prepare him for marriage as he requests, with godly descendants, and with such a wife to help him attain Your will. Lord God, give him clarity of Your will when dealing with the course of his life and family. We pray against the pain of the past hurt inflicted by the unequally yoked girlfriend which could lead to other temptations and sexual immorality and give healing. We pray Lord that you make him whole ready for a godly wife, prepare him for his role as a future godly husband and father carried out within Your statutes and principles revealed in Your Word. Make Him steadfast and zealous for You. Turn his stray thoughts and feelings away from the temptations of the flesh and draw him closer to You. Let His thought of you be greater than his fears and temptations. Enlighten him on your processes in lives of children which are a gift, discouraging them for any reason. Lead Him to those whom God calls to help Him, a godly wife rather than a set of conformity to traditions refusing to pray according to Your Word and Will. Father be His comfort and guide through this life and into the next. Help Him to resist impure and immoral thoughts. In Jesus' name. Amen
Trust in the Lord, and never give up hope. God has a plan and a purpose for you. Hold tight to Jesus' hand and He will lead you through. You are God's child and He is holding His hand out to you to guide you on His path. Be constant and persistent in your relationship with God.
