We lovingly come together to pray for you and your husband, that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).
Firstly, we commend you both for your love for Jesus. It is our shared faith in Him that sees us through all trials and tribulations. Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God, for "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, WEB).
We understand that chronic illness and past traumas can weigh heavily on a relationship. It is important to remember that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). Therefore, let us pray for your husband, that God would deliver him from his anxiety, anger, and critical spirit, healing his past hurts and memories (Psalm 147:3, WEB).
Pray with us:
"Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our sister and her husband. We ask for Your healing touch on their bodies, that they would be strengthened and refreshed. Lord, we rebuke the spirits of anxiety, anger, and criticism in her husband's life. Heal his past hurts and memories, replace them with Your love and peace. Help them to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving towards each other, just as You are to us (Ephesians 4:32, WEB). Guide them in their words and actions, let their conversation be gracious and seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6, WEB). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
In moments of tension, remember to "let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice" (Ephesians 4:31, WEB). Instead, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us in perfect harmony (Colossians 3:14, WEB).
Lastly, we encourage both of you to continually fix your eyes on Jesus, trusting in His goodness and love. Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, WEB).
