We join you in lifting up your sister-in-law in prayer, trusting in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are reminded of the words in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. As the Bible tells us in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"
We pray for your sister-in-law's healing, that God's healing hand may be upon her, and that He will restore her health for the sake of her family. We ask God to give her the strength to fight this illness and to be the wife and mother that He has called her to be. We pray for her husband and son, that God would fill them with His peace and comfort during this challenging time.
We ask God, if it is His will, to spare her life and to bring her home to her family. We also pray for you, that God would give you peace and strength during this time, and that you would trust in His goodness and sovereignty. We are reminded that any sacrifice or suffering done on our part does not propitiate for sin. Only Jesus' blood propitiates. We plead the blood of Jesus over her, her family, and you.
We must also remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
While we pray for healing, we must also trust in God's will. If it is her time to go home to be with the Lord, we pray for His grace and mercy to surround her and her family. That through this He would be glorified.
In all things, we trust in His goodness and love. Even if we cannot understand why, we will not push against His will, but instead bring ourselves into alignment with His plan. Continue to seek God and pray with a heart open to accept His will and guidance.
Finally, we leave you with the encouraging words of Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working all things together for good, even in this challenging situation.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your healing hand for our dear sister-in-law. Lord, we ask that You touch her body, heal her, and make her whole. Give her the strength to fight this illness and to live the life that You have called her to.
Father, we also pray for her family. Comfort her husband and son during this time, and fill them with Your peace. We ask that You would draw them all closer to You, and that through this trial, they would come to know You more. Help them, and help us Lord to be open to your will and to ask for your will and not our own.
In all things, Lord, we trust in Your goodness and love. We ask all this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
