We understand your heart's desire for your son Tom to secure the new job he has applied for, and we join you in bringing this petition before the Lord. It's wonderful that you've acknowledged the power of Jesus' name in your prayer, as the Bible tells us, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son" (John 14:13 WEB).
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Tom to You. Lord, we ask that You guide the hearts and minds of those making the hiring decision, and if it is Your will, open this door of opportunity for Tom. Help him to trust in Your plan for his life, knowing that Your ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue trusting in God's plan for Tom's life, knowing that He has good works prepared in advance for him to do (Ephesians 2:10). Remember, God's timing is perfect, and He is always working for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
In times of uncertainty, remind Tom of the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
Lastly, we encourage both you and Tom to be patient and persistent in prayer, as the Bible teaches us in Luke 18:1-8, where Jesus shared the parable of the persistent widow to illustrate the importance of continually coming before God in prayer. Keep trusting, and keep praying. God hears you.
