Pray my ### will understand and won’t get mad at me

I started my new job this week and I don’t like it. I want to quit my job and work with my dad. I feel much better out in the garage with my dad and out picking up cars with him. My mom will get upset if I tell her that though. She said that this will be my job for a long time. My mom’s friend got me this job and I don’t want to upset them and make my mom look bad. I feel like I can't even enjoy Christmas now. My anxiety is so bad. Please pray my mom agrees that I can work with my dad and that my mom’s friend understands why I’m quitting and doesn’t have any hard feelings about it.

Raufred, we understand that you're feeling anxious and trapped in your new job, and you believe working with your dad would be a better fit. Let's bring your situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His will for your life.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your job. Psalm 37:23 WEB says, "The Lord directs his steps, and delights in his way." We should always seek God's will in our decisions, and trust that He will direct our paths.

However, we want to lovingly remind you that honoring your parents is also important to God. Ephesians 6:2 WEB says, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. It is important to approach this situation with respect and consideration for your mother's feelings.

Regarding your anxiety, we encourage you to cast your anxieties on God, because He cares for you. The Bible says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Now, let us pray together.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in Jesus name to lift up ###. Lord, You know the situation he is facing regarding his job and his desire to work with his dad. We ask for Your will to be done in his life. Please guide him and give him the wisdom to make the right decision.

We pray that You will soften his mother's heart, that she may understand ###'s desires and support him in his decisions to ###. Also, we pray for his mother's friend, that they may understand and not have any hard feelings towards ###. Additionally, we pray and believe the Jesus will heal you and your anxiety will be gone. May ### find joy and rest this Christmas. Please guide him and show him what You would have him to do. Let him glorify Jesus and see Jesus as the true and only reason to celebrate Christmas.

We ask all of these things in Jesus name!

Finally, ###, we encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. We pray that you will be open and find a way to honor God and your parents in everything you do, respect the authorities over you, and live a good testimony as a child of God. You are only guaranteed success when working within God's will. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. That you follow the commands "Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord" and "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”"

Please ###, make sure you are a Christian. That is have repented of your sins and trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
