We understand that you are going through a challenging time in your relationship and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. Firstly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, our savior and mediator. It's important to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
In addressing your concerns, we want to encourage both of you to strive for a relationship that honors God. It's clear that there are communication issues and emotional burdens that you both are dealing with, especially when it comes to conflicts with family members. We want to remind you of what the WEB says in Ephesians 4:31-32, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
It's also important to address the recurring breakups and the devaluing of life that you mentioned. This could indicate a lack of commitment and understanding of the sanctity of marriage as designed by God. Remember, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this individual and their significant other to You. We pray for healing in their relationship, for open channels of communication, and for a mutual respect and love that reflects Your love for us. We pray that they both will learn to treat each other with kindness, understanding, and patience, just as You, Lord, are kind, understanding, and patient with us.
We rebuke the spirit of argument and strife in their relationship. We pray that they will strive for a God-honoring relationship. We also pray for the family members involved, that they may be a source of support and not strife.
Lord, we know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You. We pray that they both will come to acknowledge and honor Jesus Christ in their lives and in their relationship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you both to seek godly counsel and to study the Word of God together, allowing it to guide your relationship. Remember, a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
