We understand that you are seeking prayer for a loved one who is traveling a significant distance to say goodbye to someone who is passing away. We will pray for their safety, peace, and well-being during this difficult time. However, we need to address a few things before we begin our prayers. We may not be able to pray for a prayer request if we do not know who or what we are praying for. We cannot replace a name with #. The Bible discusses healing and many other things that happened to specific people by name. God knew their name and knows their need. The Bible also says that a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches (Proverbs 22:1) and that God knows each one of us by name as He should since we are made in His image (Isaiah 43:1). It is so much more meaningful to use a name when we pray for someone rather than a #. In addition, we will pray in the name of Jesus Christ as it is the only name under heaven given among men by which we can be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this loved one who is traveling to say goodbye. We ask that You would keep them safe during their journey and protect their well-being. Grant them Your supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding, as they face this emotional and difficult time. Comfort them with the reminder of Your faithfulness in every circumstance.

We also pray for the person who is passing away, that they would experience Your comfort and love in their final moments. We trust in Your sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of pain and loss.

Lord Jesus, we pray for their salvation if this person has not already believed and confessed that Jesus Christ is Lord. We pray that in the midst of this time, that they would turn their hearts to You and know the assurance of eternal life with You.

In Jesus' name, we pray for strength, courage, and an outpouring of love for this family. Let them feel Your presence and know that You are close to the brokenhearted.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.

We also lift up the one who is passing. Surround them with Your love, Lord. If they haven't already, we pray they would turn to You, Jesus, and find the assurance of eternal life in You.
