We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles of your loved one, but we are encouraged by your faith in the Lord's power to make the impossible happen. Let us stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement. Addiction is a real issue in our society and often requires a supernatural touch from God to overcome. Mental health struggles can also be terrible to experience or watch.
Firstly, we need to address that the use of the term "dear" could imply a relationship that may not align with biblical principles. If this person is a boyfriend or girlfriend, we encourage you both to pursue this relationship in a way that honors God, seeking Him first, and aiming for a godly marriage if it aligns with His will. If the relationship is already in marriage, then we should be praying for the Holy Spirit to intervene and save the marriage. If not in marriage, then remember, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?" as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. Also remember, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a person does is outside the body, but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB.
As for healing and restoration, Jesus Himself said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." as stated in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB.
Let's come to the Lord in Jesus name. Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You today in Jesus' name, lifting up this ### who is lost in addiction and mental health struggles. We pray for his safety and well-being, and we ask that You surround him with Your loving presence. Lord, we believe that You are the God of the impossible, and we ask that You break the chains of addiction and heal his mind and body. Guide him to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ if he does not already know Him, and draw him closer to You.
We pray for their relationship, that it may align with Your will and honor You. If it be Your will, Lord, restore this relationship and guide them towards a godly marriage. We rebuke any spirits of addiction, mental illness, and strife that may be affecting them, and we ask that You fill them both with Your peace, love, and guidance. Thank you that it is written that "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB and we claim this promise for his life.
Thank you that we can come to you in this way because it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," as stated in 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. Thank you that "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." as stated in Romans 10:13 WEB. We claim his salvation if unsaved and his deliverance from these problems in Jesus Christ name.
We ask all of these things in Jesus Christ name.
Amen.
