We understand that you're asking for prayer for the city of Baltimore and the Ravens football team. However, we must address that the focus of our prayers should not be merely on worldly competitions or rivalries, but rather on the spiritual well-being of individuals and communities, and these things are secondary.
As believers, we are called to pray for our cities and communities, that God's will may be done and that His kingdom may come (Matthew 6:10 WEB). We should pray for the peace and prosperity of our city, as the prophet Jeremiah instructed the Israelites in exile (Jeremiah 29:7 WEB).
Let us pray for Baltimore:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the city of Baltimore. We pray for Your will to be done and for Your kingdom to come in this city. We ask that You would pour out Your blessing and favor upon Baltimore, and that You would bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual renewal to its communities. We pray for the Ravens, not to smite their opponents, but we pray that you use the players to be the men of God they need to be for their families, children, and fans. We pray that you give them opportunity to share the gospel and use the platform to live their lives glorifying to God.
We ask this in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
Regarding the rivalry with the Steelers or any other team, we should remember that our true battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We should not wish ill on others, but rather pray for their well-being and salvation.
As for the Ravens emerging victorious, we should pray that God would give them favor and success in a way that brings glory to His name. We should also pray for the safety and well-being of the players on both teams, and that their conduct would be a positive testimony to the power of God in their lives.
Finally, we should always remember that our ultimate victory is not found in worldly competitions, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is only by His name that we have access to God and can be saved. It is by the name of Jesus and the acceptance and belief of Jesus Christ being our Lord and Savior that we are saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).
