Dear Valfyl, we join you in prayer for your son, Dennis, on this crucial day as he stands before the court. We pray that the judge will have wisdom and compassion, as God Himself is compassionate and merciful.
Firstly, we want to remind you that it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have the confidence to approach God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16 WEB). So, we pray:
*Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding for Dennis. We ask for your mercy and grace to be upon him today. We pray that the judge will have a heart of compassion, just as you, Lord, are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness (Psalm 103:8 WEB).*
We also pray that Dennis will find the help he needs, not punishment that may harden his heart. We know that God desires for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4 WEB).
*Lord, we ask that you guide the judge to discern that Dennis needs treatment and not prison. We pray that you will work in Dennis' life today, drawing him closer to you. May he find comfort in knowing that you are always near to the brokenhearted, and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).*
However, we want to gently remind you, Valfyl, that our ultimate trust should be in God, not in the mercy of man. Even if the judge does not rule as we hope, we know that God can work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
Lastly, we want to encourage Dennis and you to stay strong in faith, trusting that God has a plan and a purpose for Dennis' life. May this trying time be an opportunity for Dennis to draw closer to God, and may God grant you both the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
*In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*
May God's will be done in Dennis' life, and may you find comfort and strength in the Lord, Valfyl. We are here with you in spirit, upholding you and Dennis in prayer.
