Let's bring our brothers and sisters who are mistreated before the throne of grace. We remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25 WEB:
"Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
"The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'"
We pray for those who are mistreated, that God would be their comfort and strength in Psalm 34:18 WEB:
"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We also pray for those who are mistreating others, that God would change their hearts and bring them to repentance, as it says in Romans 2:4 WEB:
"Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. And let us not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased in Hebrews 13:16 WEB. Amen.
In all things, we must remember to be a voice for the voiceless and to stand up for those who are mistreated, as Proverbs 31:8-9 WEB tells us:
"Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."
Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing his love and compassion to those who are mistreated.
