We join you, dear Anonymous, in fervent prayer for the United States of America. We, too, cry out to our heavenly Father, seeking His grace and guidance in these times of division and anger. The Bible tells us, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB).
First, we must address the absence of the name of Jesus in your prayer. We believe that it is through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). So, we pray in His name and encourage you to do the same.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for the United States of America. Lord, we ask for Your grace to abound in this nation. We pray for healing from the divisions and anger that have taken root. We ask that You protect the democratic principles upon which this nation was founded, and that goodness prevail.
Lord, we lift up the new president to You. Guide them with Your wisdom and discernment, so that they may lead with grace, love, compassion, and kindness. May they seek Your will and govern in a way that honors You.
We pray for freedom and liberty to prevail in this nation, and that these blessings may be extended to the world. Lord, protect and guide the United States, and may this nation turn to You and be healed.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In addition, we encourage everyone to live in a manner that promotes peace and unity, as God's Word instructs, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18, WEB). Let us all strive to be instruments of God's peace and love in our communities and nation.
