We understand your concern and join you in prayer for those who are deceiving themselves by living a double life. Let us first address the issues raised and then bring them before the Lord in prayer. The Bible tells us that God desires truth in the inward parts, and He wants us to be holy as He is holy in all areas of our lives, not just on Sundays, in WEB, Psalm 51:6 Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts. You teach me wisdom in the inmost place. and in WEB, 1 Peter 1:15-16 but like the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in all of your behavior because it is written, "You shall be holy for I am holy".
Firstly, attending church on Sunday and living in sin during the week is not true repentance. God warns us against hypocrisy, in WEB Luke 12:1 Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Those who indulge in sexual sin, whether it be in adultery, fornication, homosexuality, or any other form, need to truly repent of their sins in WEB 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God' Be not deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God". and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness. Living a life of continual repentance for the same sins is not a sign of true change but an indication that one is still entangled in the bondage of sin.
Secondly, beliefs such as vegetarianism or veganism do not have the power to erase sin. Only faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world, can cleanse us from all unrighteousness, WEB John 1:29 The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world'! and WEB 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up those who are living a double life, believing that their Sunday worship covers their sinful activities during the week. Lord, expose the truth to them. Convict them of their sins, and grant them the gift of true repentance, in WEB Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.".
We pray for those who are entangled in sexual sins, that You would deliver them from their bondage and give them the strength to live in purity, WEB 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality! "Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.'. We also pray for those who believe that their good works or personal beliefs can erase their sins. Open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, that only faith in Jesus Christ can save them and cleanse them from all unrighteousness, WEB Ephesians 2:8-9 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
Lord, we put our trust in You, knowing that You desire for all to come to repentance and knowledge of the truth of believing in Jesus Christ, in WEB Acts 4:12 'There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!' and, WEB 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
