Thank you for sharing this encounter and your heart for your friend's salvation. We are encouraged by your boldness in sharing the gospel with him. Let us pray together for this situation.
Firstly, we commend you for directing the conversation towards eternal matters. It is clear that the Holy Spirit has placed this young man on your heart, and we trust that your friendship will be a light that guides him to Christ. The Word says, 'Let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.' Matthew 5:16 WEB
We must remind you that it is only by the name Jesus Christ that we can be saved. Moreover, it is only through His name that we have access to God the Father. We are not given any other name that can save us, as the Scripture states, 'in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!' Acts 4:12 WEB
Let us pray together for your friend:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear friend to You. Lord, You know his heart and his struggles. We ask that You soften his heart and draw him to Yourself. We pray that the seed of the Gospel that has been planted in his life will grow and bear fruit.
We ask, Father, that You would give our friend a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that he may seek Your face and find life everlasting in Christ Jesus. Convict him of his sins, Lord, and draw him to repentance, for You have promised that all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. We rebuke the devil.
You know that the harvest is plenty and the laborers are few. So, send laborers to him and other lost. Lord Jesus, reveal yourself to him.
Father, we also pray for our friend, that You would fill him/her with Your Spirit and empower him/her to be a light to his friend. Give him/her the words to speak and the courage to share the Good News boldly and lovingly. Let him/her be a vessel of Your grace and love.
We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to walk with your friend, sharing the hope that you have in Christ. Be patient, loving, and persistent in prayer. 'The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.' 2 Peter 3:9 WEB
Remember, 'the prayer of the righteous avails much.' Prayer changes things, so keep interceding for your friend, trusting that God is at work in his life.
